Bem Brasil is a Brazilian Rodizio restaurant in the heart of Manchester. What this means is that there is a buffet of side dishes which you can help yourselves to… but the real winner is the grilled meat on metal skewers that is grilled throughout the meal and sliced and served at your table. Waiters walk over to your table with large piece of meat on a skewer and simply ask you if you’d like some. If so, they slice you off a piece or two, if not, you simply wait for the next piece of meat. Meat ranges from chicken to sausages to lamb to pork to beef… and all is succulent, tasty and grilled seconds before getting to your place.
My absolute favourite pieces of meat are the ‘Picanha’ steak, the Brazilian sausage and the ‘cheesy beef’ which is literally a huge slab of beef with cheese oozing out of it! The sides are great, I’d recommend getting the rice, topped with ‘feijoada’ (black bean and bacon stew) and a side of farofa (toasted cassava flour mixture) and some fried bananas. And to drink? Caipirinha of course, a traditional Brazilian cocktail made with cachaça, sugar, lime and lots of ice.
You should really be hungry to go to a place like this because you’ll eat until you can’t breathe anymore, so if you’re a fussy eater and you’ve got a small appetite, maybe this place is not for you. But if you want to try something different, and very tasty, then this is one of the best places.
The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, perfect for a night out with friends. All the staff are super friendly and there’s a bar downstairs where you can chill after your meal and enjoy some more caipirinhas of course! I’m not sure how many times I’ve been here, I can’t even recall anymore. It’s one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester and I always enjoy myself when I go here.
